A Stunning Realization

Just a short note to say that, just yesterday morning, I had a stunning realization. I have been abbreviating the titles of the books in my notes and scribbles:

CIH = Cartography: The Ideal and Its History

MHT = Mapping, History, Theory, the second book, currently in process

And yesterday, for the first time, I abbreviated the title of the third book in the series:

MaP = Mapping as Process

For all the times I’ve written that title, and seen it in the URL for this blog, I did not realize that the name spelled … “map.”

Wow!

How meta that is! The title to the third book is clearly fated, and cannot be changed.

Mapping as Process

Mapping as Process is a space for me to explore a new approach to understanding mapping and its history. The exploration will eventually contribute to a book of the same name.
