Review forum for Cartography: The Ideal and Its History

Thanks to Jörn Seeman, the author-meets-the-critics panel at the cancelled AAG meeting has been published in the AAG Review of Books:

Seeman, Jörn, ed. 2020. “Forum: Cartography: The Ideal and Its History.” AAG Review of Books 8, no. 4 (2020): 223–35.

The contributors are:

Jörn Seeman, Ball State University, IN
Barbara Belyea, University of Calgary
Keith C. Clarke, University of California, Santa Barbara
Francis Harvey, Leibnitz Institute for Regional Geography, Leipzig
Trevor Barnes, University of British Columbia
Maria Lane, University of New Mexico

and then I respond … it’s all a good way to get a summary of the book!

I especially appreciated Harvey’s phrase, that “cartography is the ‘odd faith in the “miracle of mapping.”’”
