I'm Quitting Twitter

I have been increasingly unhappy with all the changes to Twitter by the new management. I haven’t pursued much in the way of politics, so my timeline has been invaded only by a few odd promoted tweets. But the quality overall is eroding, and I have not been persuaded by the functionalities of mastodon.

I thought I could hold out until January 1st, and then leave as part of a new year’s resolution to make a social media cleanse. But then I’ve never made new year’s resolutions before, so I have no compunction about not carrying through with the cute plan. Today, the firing of precarious janitorial staff took the levels of irresponsible behavior one step too far for me.

So, I’m out of here.
