A New Essay on Single-Volume "Histories of Cartography"

Just to let you all know, that another element cut from other writing has just been published in the latest issue of The Portolan, journal of the Washington Map Society. The essay explores the twentieth-century phenomenon of the single-volume “histories of cartography” and how they could deal with such a huge topic in a single volume (some of which were quite short!).
